did I get a good deal on this constellation?

Hi, bought this constellation last year whilst on holiday.
Went in to an antique shop to look at a seiko and came out with this. I believe its a reference 167.005. I have not had the back off myself but I did take it to a jewellers to see if it was real. He assure me it was and told me it is keeping remarkable time.
I paid £393, it was up for £420.
I don't have box or papers. What would it be worth roughly?

Thanks in advance.
Sam.

Is that debris on the crystal or paint loss on the dial?

Its on the dial unfortunately, it isn't hardly as noticable on the wrist.
I do really love the watch so i suppose that is all that matters, however it would be nice to know its rough value.

The watch appears to be legit from what I can see, but the value will be affected by the condition. TBH, it would not be an easy watch to sell. If you look at previous listings on the Private Sales forum, you can get a sense of what similar models sell for, but the value is strongly influenced by condition, and I don't know if you'll find many with that type of dial damage.

It’s impossible to assess the watch without a photograph of the movement, but I would think that it’s probably worth somewhat less than you paid since dealers need to make a living. The case has been overpolished and I can’t really tell from these photos whether there is damage to the dial. The crown and buckle both appear to be original.

Welcome @smulford29
Liking the watch is all that is important.

The condition of the dial and case does hurt the value and the watch wasn’t a super bargain - but think of it this way, you now have a date-less dome dial dogleg constellation for about a third of the price of a really good condition one.

Enjoy your watch!

I think you’ve paid about what’s it’s worth. The dial has serious condition issues and the case is very polished. However, it’s extremely hard to find a wearable dogleg Connie for less!
If you want a Connie on a budget it seems a reasonable buy. I’d imagine if you listed it on eBay you may see a small profit of maybe £50.

If it’s listed in a shop as ‘x’ it’s likely to worth a bit less.

Thanks,
if it would have been in good condition I would not have been able to afford it.
On the wrist it is not noticable, it's a great piece to my small collection. It's good to be reminded of the reason to collect these things, and the enjoyment factor is it.

Appreciate the kind words, many thanks.
