See my photo of a caliber 562 Seamaster made in 1961, reference number 14770-1SC. The lacquer on the dial has deteriorated to the point that it is flaking off and taking with it markings on the dial. I live in the states. Does anyone know of a dial refinisher who does quality work? Or where can I get a replacement dial? If neither option is good, then I guess my only choice is to remove the bad lacquer along with the dial markings and apply a new coat of lacquer so the watch can still be used.

Sourcing a replacement dial from eBay or a donor watch would be the best option. Refinishing the dial will devalue the watch significantly as a collectible piece, but if you must, International Dial Company is located in the US and has a good reputation for their work. https://internationaldialllc.com
