Hi team,

I'm considering purchasing this 2849 (my patina tolerance is high, this looks evenly spotty to me, my wife will christen it "the leopard") but I was concerned the Seamaster logo looks a bit hinky. The S in particular looks neither like the expected coathanger, or the rounder version -- more like something in between. I've done some basic research, and have found two here on the forums that look similar. Should I walk away, run; or cautiously approach?

Thanks in advance!

Everything looks original and lume on hands has been relumed? Powered by a 503 with a snap case back.
Run, negotiate or buy depend on the price.

I am not a vintage Seamaster expert, though I've owned a few, but if that's a redial, I would like to employ the artist! 😁

Im not an expert but just bought 2 Omega Vintage watches in the last 2 weeks after searching and reading many reviews articles forums etc😀
My opinion is, because the dial is damaged - what you call is "patina"😀 - they cleaned the dial and they might re-painted the words but were not very careful. but for me this patina is fantastic and I loved it.
Id ensure if the mechanism is original or not, and according to the price I could buy it.
(This is not an advise for investment😀 )

I really really like it but I can predict the experts passing on it because of the case and how the case lines don't appear sharp, however with gold coated watches you never know from the photos, sometimes sharp cases look rounded in certain lighting, but I don't think it's polished even though it's rounded from wear

Just like a heavy hand when applying salt to a steak - yum - I don’t mind heavy patina.

My vote is original dial.

sorry for the steak part. I am hungry and have not had meat in many weeks.

Original dial, relumed hands, and I'd say polished case. Are there pictures from other angles?Especially the 7 o clock lug looks light the gold-cap might be damaged.

With this appearance, it should be pretty cheap.

100% agree with the others on the original dial and relumed hands. @MtV mentioned the possible damage to the gold cap on the 7 lug. I’ll add that there appears to be some oxidation of the base metal between the 1 o’clock lug and the bezel. Possibly a cause for concern.

I agree as well. Dial looks original, but the hands have been relumed. My opinion- purchase would depend on whether the price reflects the hands and relative condition of the case and movement.

The dial looks good, I don't even mind that patina. The relumed hands and polished case might give me pause though. It all depends on the price.

Seamaster is not my interest but this is not a redial and the nice even patina is interesting.
