Dial check on this Constellation?

Hey all,

Thinking of pulling the trigger on this Omega C case Constellation. Looks to have its original gold plate bracelet, and the fonts look to be alright. I know these C cases can sometimes fail the MOY test but still be original dials, but I'm not a great expert at seeing if the variants are redials or not. My gut feeling is that it's all original after viewing some other similar case references (plus linen dials are hard to reproduce text on), but want more opinions.

Much appreciated as always.

Also, meant to post this in the vintage Omega forum, not general discussion. Could a mod please move this post over to the appropriate place?

Dial seems OK, but the case appears to be very heavily worn/polished which would make it a pass in my book.

What's the back look like?

Here's the back. I understand that gold capped cases tend to have much more rounded edges than their solid gold/plated/SS versions do.

After looking some more at the coin-edge bezel, it looks like some of the flutes disappear before reaching the end of the bezel - a sure sign of heavy polishing in my book, making this a pass for me as well.

Just curious if it has side shots too? Those usually make polishing obvious on that nice brushed finish. Top definitely looks polished. I saw a claimed gold-cap this morning that was very sharp. Or maybe it’s actually plated? I’m not sure how to tell the difference honestly.

Crown is a replacement but likely an original Omega crown

The bracelet is a hack-job - those pin holes shouldn't be there

Generally a gold capped case is only gold on the top and sides with the bottom showing the base material, usually stainless steel. Typically a gold plated case will be gold on all sides including inside.

Thank you good sir. I thought cap and plated were like above. Now I know! 😀

So the pic I posted above is capped and very sharp case. Referring to the OPs comments that capped have rounder edges. Here’s the listing I’m referring to but it’s way overpriced.

Interestingly, bracelets say gold plated, yet they didn't plate the sides, I created a thread about this recently but got no thoughts
