I have this 115.0001 deville that i am trying to replace the crystal for. However, despite my research, the original crystal that seemed to otherwise fit perfectly does not have a rim and appears to have been glued in. Furthermore the case does not have a notch within to hold a regular rimmed crystal. This is one of the later models of this watch evident by the smoother case back. Im not sure what this means. is this watch meant to have a glued crystal?

The correct crystal (PZ5205) is a force fit and is held in the case by pressure from the tension ring on the inside of the crystal.

No glue required.

Excuse me for not knowing, but does that mean that the crystal is not supposed to have a lip that fits into the watch case?

No, that would make it extremely difficult to remove, even if using the correct tool (104) which I just realised I don't have.

This is good news and bad news. It sounds like i need a new crystal. The original doesn’t look like it is stock omega which might explain why it was glued in. Currently, it fits snugly, but i can slip it all the way in and remove it by hand. i have one more question, can the new crystal be installed with a crystal press or do i need to use a lift again? Also, you seem to know your stuff, is there a database or something where i can find this info?
