Determining ref. nr. on Seamaster De Ville

Hello fellow Omega lovers,

I've recently bought a Seamaster De Ville from the late 60's but haven't got the cal. or the ref. nr. from the seller, who only had it for a short period and didn't care to get it opened to determine them. (I will have it serviced soon but I'm just a little curious)

The watch is manually wound and from the Omega site it seems, that the only matching ref. nr. would be the 135.020, making the cal. a 601. Does this seem correct and is there anything that seems replaced (besides the crystal, which doesn't have the omega logo in the centre, the strap and the buckle)?

btw. is the dial what you would call a sunburst dial, with the radial brushed pattern?

The pictures are the best i could manage in my winter gloomy apartment.

Thanks in advance!

The reference is in the inner side of the back. You need to get it opened by a watchmaker, and take a picture.

The inscriptions at the back probably refer to this being presented to some employee after x years of service

Sure, I know, and I will, it was just if some of you experts with good eyes and a lot of experience could satisfy my curiosity before hand or say if my guess seems correct. The employee would have been recieving the watch for his 25 years of sevice at an organisation working in Limburg in the south of Holland around the state mines.

IMO it is an 135.020 housing a 601 caliber. I bought what seems to be the exact same watch

Looks exactly like that. Such a beauty! The dial on mine seems to be more of a champagne colour, but the case and the dial is identical from what I can see. Yours also look gorgeous with that reddish brown leather strap.

Thank tou Sir. Depending on the light, the dial is champagne, grey or white.

You are right. I will!

Grab a knife and crack it open. Just use a piece of plastic around the blade so you don't scratch anything. It opens at that seam around the middle at crown level. I'm just as curious...haha.

Bad idea... (or was that a joke 🤔?)

Reference is either 135.010 or 135.020 as pointed out above so wait until its going to be serviced as you intend to

Guess it was a joke.

I'll wait til I'll get it serviced, no point in risking anything. Thanks for taking the time to answer. 😀
