I had to Google "Depollier". Thank you for introducing me to these! While I don't think I'll dive in anytime soon, it does satisfy a question I had long since forgotten about: what the first waterproof watch was. I had assumed it was the Omega marine or something similar.
Also for me was the first time when I see those watches..馃榾 I prefer the left one
I was waiting to se if there were any comments on the watch on the left. It's the J. Peterman copy from 1990. At this point I think it's almost as rare an original.
Sloshing through the shallow swamp in the Amazon, one could cut the humid air with a knife. Thank goodness I strapped on my Depollier watch this morning as I knew things were going to get intense on this trail to the bivouac. .
Left one looks abit anachronistic to me. I would expect the hands to be like the one on the right.
So even though I prefer black dials for rarity, the purist in me would pick right.

The hands on the original were temporary replacements, as the originals were damaged. They should look like the ones on the Peterman, or like
the ones on my avatar
