Indeed, it is a highly collectible time-piece from Omega. It has found a good home and I am sure, it will be loved and cherished, forever.

Congratulations, your dream has come true.

Thank-you.

Its odd that it was between the two of us at the end. If it had not been that way either of us would have been high bidders @ $3438. That would have made my day...

Just for the record......I would have pulled it at that price, as I told you on Ebay. I would have kept it and had it serviced then possibly re-listed it. I am glad it went to Ash!

Hi Kat! Nice to see you're still dropping by. For future reference, you can hit Reply at the bottom right of any post and it will quote that post in yours, then you can delete out what you don't want to directly answer. It would make your post above show this at the beginning instead of the copy & paste from pmontoyap's post:

It's quite possible that there were other bidders between say $3500 and $4200 whose bids didn't get entered at the last second because of two higher bids. I think the interest on this piece was high at the $3500 to $4500 range. And as for pulling it on ebay, that is easier said than done in the final 24 hours of auction with live bids already entered.

MIke - I think eBay had changed the rules to the last 12 hours. If before that period, you had to cancel all the bids before removing it. However, it's been a while since I've bought or sold there due to my feud with them so things have probably changed.

You may be right about the 12 hours but with a watch like this, most of the realistic bids will probably be entered in the final 5-6 seconds through a sniping program. Do you find that selling by consignment is a better way to sell than via ebay?

It's not perfect, but there are benefits.

1) I don't have to shoot & edit dozens of pictures.
2) I don't have to answer hundreds of questions from n00bs or flakes that end up trying to low ball their bid and not winning anyway.
3) No shipping or any potential issues that come with shipping.
4) No fraud from scammers.

Sometimes watches don't sell immediately, but that happens on eBay with B.I.N. listings too. I've also struck deals for trades at the store. My Polerouter came as part of a trade for my Temps Mecanique.

Do you net close to what you would net on ebay on average?

Pretty much. Most times a little less, sometimes a little more. My boss wanted to sell his Cartier and they don't usually bring very good prices on eBay. At Sam's shop in Philly he netted exactly what he wanted, and Sam got a small consignment fee plus a few bucks for the cosmetic work he did to spiff it up. The Constellation 168.015 I sold that was returned for no good reason ended up selling at Faber's for a little less than the same net price.

OK, but we want to see some pictures with you actually wearing it. Preferably in some action situation such as grabbing a Shingleback or petting a Wombat.
