Asking: $695 USD More pictures here (www.secondtimeticking.com)

Age: 1940-1950's

Maker: DeBruce

Case: Chrome over base metal case with snap caseback. Case has not been polished. We will leave that for the buyer to decide. Let us draw your attention to the top right lug, which has been bent and dinged. We have not attempted a repair as the defect is only cosmetic and it does not cause any problem with the strap. Please also note that the chrome is wearing through on the original crown. Caseback marked 220405. Inside caseback: Royce Watch Co. Swiss Made. Base Metal. Stainless Steel Back.

Dial: Original, factory finished dial with radium lume numbers intact. The dial has acquired some scars over the years, but we really like the vintage look, particularly with the nice golden patina that the face has taken on with age.

All of the hands are original to the watch. The hour and minute hand have been relumed. Please note the cracking of a small area of the hour hand (visible in the pictures); our watchmaker assessed this and as it was unlikely to cause any further problems, we again elected to preserve the historical integrity of the watch as matching replacements are no longer available.

Hand pointer to date chapter at perimeter of dial. Twin day/month windows and moonphase window.

Movement: Highly sought after and well regarded Valjoux 90. Movement signed Royce Watch Co. Seventeen Jewels, and marked SXK on balance bridge. This movement is in pristine condition and is keeping good time.

All day/date /month/ moonphase complications work properly.

Fully serviced by our master watchmaker.

Dimensions: 35 mm x 44 mm without crown

Condition: DeBruce is not a well known brand and may have been a Jeweler's house brand produced by the Royce Watch Co. The watch has clearly been well worn and well loved and her patina does not betray this fact. The main draw here folks, is the Valjoux 90 movement. The Valjoux 90 calibre comes from a storied pedigree of movements that include calibres 23, 72, 88, and 90. All of which were variously used in the highest quality Swiss watches of the day including Rolex, Girard-Perregaux, Universal Geneve, Heuer, Gubelin, Ulysse Nardin, Jaeger-LeCoultre, amongst others. For vintage watch collectors who find delight in an unassuming label containing one of the finest mechanical complications of the era, we think you've found your daily wearer for an extremely reasonable price.

Band: Handsomely fitted on a genuine, chocolate brown crocodile strap. 19mm.

Shipping: We prefer shipping FedEx with Parcel Pro insurance to get your fine timepiece on your wrist with the minimum of extra handeling and chance for damage. We ask that you please select this choice at checkout, though we are happy to accomodate other shipping options for international customers. If you have specific shipping questions, please get in touch before completing you order to avoid additional charges later.
