There was a waiting list at ADs for daytonas even before the new ceramic was announced. You must be living in a special part of the world of you claim there has not been a waiting list for years.

Fair enough. I am already on a waiting list for the new dayC. Not in any rush to pick one up and still enjoying my current daytona. That said just been invited by AD to a dinner event to sample some new models. So hopefully will add a few pictures with me trying the watch on.

The white dial ceramic will age gracefully. Pass it on to a loved one in a few decades.

I love the new Daytona myself. Some ADs had wait lists for the old one, and some still do I'm sure. It was always a watch you could get if you had a good relationship with your dealer of choice. I've been offered many Daytonas over the years, both in white and black. A few weeks ago my AD handed me 2 and said I could take my pick. I'm not a Daytona guy so I thanked her, but they're accessible. Both Ceramic and Non

IMO the all white dial steel daytona is the best! flies under the radar, but still looks awesome in every situation

Acquiring this watch at list seems to mostly be a matter of whom you know and where you live. Locally, there is only one Rolex AD, where I am #6 on the waiting list, and they hope to receive perhaps 2-3 per year. I've also tried larger cities near by but am not an established customer at any of those and so SOL. I can buy grey at well above MSRP right this minute for sure. However, I have no interest in doing that.

While these new models are not super rare, anyone certainly cannot simply walk into any AD at this point in the cycle and buy one. If it was that easy, I would own one already. Until I can purchase near list price, I'll patiently wait and thoroughly enjoy the watches I'm already lucky enough to own.

Now there's a pair of watches I could live with. The patina on that GMT is lovely.
Thanks!
