Agree with others - I will go to 38mm on the right dress watch, but 41 is too much for me. looks like a dinner plate.

Interesting views guys. I have managed to source a Reference 126334 locally, only a stone's throw from my work.

If time tomorrow, during the lunch break, will pop in to try it on the wrist and see from there 馃榾

An AD about 60miles from me has the datejust 41 with blue dial and jubilee in stock.

I also am on the list with them for an explorer 1. If I really like the DJ41 might flip to that instead.

I would highly recommend trying it on first. While I do wear a 36mm DJ (slightly biased) it is a very big watch for what I consider to be the classic Datejust.

That being said, a beautiful watch nonetheless.

Good luck, let us know how that goes! There is "Watch this" channel where author Zach Spencer concluded the watch is too big/chunky after wearing it for two years.

So tried on the datejust 41!

I personally felt the size was just right. Tried on a 36 for comparison and it felt too small (sacrilegious I know!!). Had my Tudor BBB on wrist so obviously felt smaller than that.

Felt a lot lighter than I would have expected. Very jewelery like with the fluted bezel and jubilee.

I liked it, and asked re trade in for my BBB.... Only offered 1300 off, so going to sleep on it.

Have an explorer 1 coming next few months and will only be getting one, so not sure what to plump for as of yet. Never seen the expolorer in the flesh but also love the pics I've seen.

Some decisions to mull over..... First world problems!! 馃榾

I tried one on, and it was a bit large for me as well. Maybe somewhere between the 38-40mm range would fit better. Although the azure blue dial was hard to resist.

I am glad they finally made this watch in 41MM. The 36MM was so small that it just looked wrong. I have a big wrist and so it looked even smaller than average on mine.

The 41 DJ does have some swag. Not my number 1 choice for a Rolex (own a Sub Date, vintage GMT Master ii, and the new GMT Master ii BLNR) at this point I would be looking at the Yachtmaster II. But the DJ 42 is nice specially with the blue dial. It will be different but still makes a statement. If you can find own, buy it. There is a world wide shortage.

If it works for you, then it doesn鈥檛 matter what others think - buy it and wear it in the best of good health.

The Jubilee band, fluted bezel and blue dial is a very classy piece. Good luck with your decision.

Good luck and it鈥檚 a good size. I had a DJ II at one time and it was 42mm and I did not think it was that big.

personally i think its a matter of personality. the 36 on be is subtle, fits nice, but if i am trying to have my watch noticed (more wrist presence) i would go with the 41

It does wear big, especially if you're used to the classic 36mm DJ. I found the fluted bezel way too blingy for my taste, but the smooth bezel and Jubilee (can't stand the PCLs of the Oyster) is a nice combination. Tried on this one (wrapped in plastic) at the Rolex Boutique in NYC.

I prefer 36mm and think new size should of been 39mm max. The DD is 40mm. My personsl taste, by no means the law. Its a Rolex no need to worry. Nevermind what we think it is your opinion that matters.

I鈥檓 starting to look into a DateJust II or 41. Thinking of stopping into a few stores next week to try them on. Are they readily available or are they hard to find like most of the Rolex SS sports, especially white with sticks?

This model has recently caught my eye. Particularly the blue dial, fluted bezel on the jubilee bracelet.

I like the dressiness of it and, as I'm suited everyday, think it would suit my lifestyle well.

I'm guessing these are going to be a lot easier to pick up at the AD 'off the shelf'.

Any one own this model and provide any thoughts?

Strangely, these seem to have a back order - I think because the Sky-Dweller looks so similar, folks are just buying these. My AD said he wouldn't be able to get the blue/flutted, any other DJ, no problem.
