Well DSOM is one hell of a watch. I would still buy and use it if that mean I have to bubble wrap it in my wrist.😁
I am wearing it the whole day. If it happens One Day, I will start to cry like a baby. I beg that this day never comes.

John Mayer made the point a while back about how silly it is that Patek fit tang buckles to complicated watches, he buys deployants for all of his, as dropping a 5970 is a more expensive prospect than any ceramic Panerai going splat.

I am definitely putting on a deployant coated in PVD to go with the DSOM. The open buckle and tang exposes it to being dropped too easily. Then again.

Do you have a source for that?....could change my opinion --- I was thinking of putting an integrated leather croc strap on the DSOM....but didn't know if I could handle a SS deployment with the ceramic...

I would love to see a PVD deployment....if it works... I am IN!

Just got some new that might be useful to those considering putting a deposit down. I was just at Omega Boutique King of Prussia and the manager told me she can get DSoMs in about a week after you put down your deposit, and they can ship anywhere in the US. If anyone is on the fence and doesn't want to wait, its probably worth giving them a call.

...yeah...I'm starting to get the feeling that there is a warehouse full of these... I truly believe that it is harder to mass produce, and that the production may be slower than the Steel counterparts, but lets face it , Omega isn't in this to not-make/sell watches...

My first inquiry into this - "need 50% deposit to even get on the wait list....which is long"

second - "we'll take $3000 deposit....but very long wait list."

later on, unsolicited after the watch was available - " because you are so special, we can get you one now ..."

Currently, at seemingly most boutiques - " I know you just came in here for directions, but do you want to buy this DSOM speedmaster? It is very exclusive and rare"

I love Omega very much, and this is a hell of a watch... but I think that in the Internet age, it gets harder and harder to flavor the kool-aid...

I don't think that this offer is exclusive to the King of Prussia boutique, I presume that the boutiques are all linked up, much like a spiderweb - with everything just leading back to the base - I'm sure any boutique that could "have it in a week" is drawing out from those in a US retail inventory.

a few high volume boutiques probably have them in house..

Now this doesn't take anything away from the beauty of this watch, or the envy that I have for any of its lucky owners...

I'm just suggesting that the great and Powerful Oz may just be a man behind a curtain with a smoke machine...

I don't think anyone should pay above list on this...

Correct. If I was offered the one I've got now to get it sooner for a higher price than listed, I would have refused to take it. 8990 € or 12000 $ are a huge amount of money. I was treated in a fair way. I needn't pay a deposit half year before expected delivery. They (the boutique) asked me to take it or leave it. They already told me that I might wait for january to receive my one. I have been the one to decide, with total information on the subject.
Every boutique likes to sell the DSOTM first to get the most money out of it, until all the other AD receive their piece or pieces to sell it with a nice discount.
