Hi all, I just received a vintage Speedmaster which was poorly protected during shipping, and the bracelet appears to be broken. What can you say from the pics? I guess it’s fixable, but I’m more concerned about the value, as it’s an original 7912 bracelet from the ‘60’s, e.g. is this damage going to devalue it once fixed? Thanks for your help.
Hi Luca, don't worry! You can just remove the damaged link and leave it that way or buy a used on on the bay for maybe 50 € or a bit more and replace the damaged one. That didn't happen on the transport, it just broke from use Nobody will notice that, so no devaluation I did it myself, really easy! Please post more pictures of the Speedmaster , is it a 2998-6? A 2998 after 4 weeks? Wow! (I edited this a few times!)
Where is the rest of the bracelet?. From your pictures, it would be an easy reassemble. Although, it appears that one of the springs has been deformed. You can refer to this link for help. There is another tutorial out there too. I can't find it right now. https://omegaforums.net/threads/fixing-broken-springs-in-a-1039-bracelet.50058/#post-600529
