·He bought this Lucien Piccard SeaShark Supreme when promoted to Administration from teacher. Mid 1960’s, from what my brother tells me.
A major step up from $15 Timex.
Yet, as one sees, still a frugal man with 2 kids and bought at 1/2 off discount. $150 to $77.50 USD.
4-5 years later I’m sure he stored and started wearing Quartz. I remember Timex and Quartz but my brother remembers this one, too.
Found kit upon cleaning out my folks house preparing to sell after vaccinations and general opening of society post Pandemic.
My WM reported he was impressed with the quality and finishing and said it was Lucien Piccards’ refinement of a A Schild 1714/1798 family movement, a LP60, and a bit more involved than normal from the era.
I placed it on ostrich since LP included a vinyl ostrich print carrier in the full kit.
times well, looks well after a new crystal and service.
There are a few LP watches shown here in the archive, but this one is a touch different with a date complication and Stainless Steel case.
