Curious about an inherited watch

Hi all,

My grandfather left me a watch and I'm curious about what it is, its value, whether its anything special, etc. Hopefully this site can help.

Its a mechanical watch. Im not sure of its age. Thats all I know

Circa 1940s. The obvious redial hurts the value. It will still find buyers on eBay etc. Value will depend on of its solid gold or plated/filled etc and the state of the movement. And if it’s actually by Omega of course! The details will be in the inner caseback.
