Crystal diameter for a 1962 Omega 14786 SC

Hi all,

I've been bequeathed what I believe to be a 1962 Omega 14786 SC watch, with a badly cracked crystal. I've attached a few photos of the inside of the case-back and the movement. Despite its age, it looks in good shape and keeps very good time (~4 seconds / day).

I would like to replace the crystal with a genuine Omega part, if possible, but, having scoured the internet for several days, I can't find any technical details that points me in the right direction for the crystal diameter. The broken crystal does not have the Omega logo, so may not be the original.It is almost exactly 30.0mm (measured with Vernier calipers and a micrometer), but nowhere can I find a replacement Omega crystal that's 30.0mm. I've have managed to find one that's 30.1mm though. If 30.0mm really is the correct size, would a 30.1mm squeeze in using a crystal lift?

The screw under the balance wheel looks a bit "chewed", so I suspect it's been "repaired/serviced" [badly!] in the past... but it's still ticking nicely.

Any of you guys/gals able to shine any light on my predicament?

Many thanks.

You’ll need to find the part number for the crystal, not just the diameter as there are other variables;
Does it have a tension ring?
Height?

Hi,

I can't find a parts list for the model. That's half the problem. On ebay ( https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/256611189359 ), a seller lists pages of Omega models, but a '14786' doesn't get a mention.

I've attached a pic with the dimensions that I have measured of the broken crystal but, as I said previously, I can't be sure it's the original.
Even though the picture only shows the cross section of half the crystal, the diameter measurements are for the full diameter, obviously!

It doesn't have a tension ring.

Thanks for your time. Greatly appreciated.
