Hello all,

I purchased a gold-capped Omega Constellation 168.010 from a fellow forum member back in 2016. I love my Connie had it serviced in 2019. Recently in 2023 I noticed condensation on the inside of the crystal.

I sent the watch back in for service. The watch maker tells me it needs a replacement crown with gasket because the integrated gasket failed. He is so far not successful in sourcing a replacement crown/gasket.

I thought my friends here on OF might be able to help. I would very much like to purchase a replacement crown and gasket.

Here is a link to the OF sales post so you can see the watch in question. At this point I do not know the exact part number I need. I will continue to look for the correct part number. If I find it, I will add it to this post.

Thank you in advance,
Mike

@ossfm , I've a feeling that the crown that was on your watch may be for the 168.016/18 rather than the correct replacement crown for the 168.010

I can't be absolutely sure (because Cousins no longer list all of the crown colours) but I think that 42050 is the domed option for the 'hidden crown' Connies and 42522 is the flat topped version (which is more like the original IMHO)

however, I did find a link to an old thread about these crowns

hope that helps.

That might very well be correct - I've just quoted from a list of references for crowns/plexis that we've had here. Could be Omegas service option.

Yep, you're quite right - they're both quoted as 'correct' replacement crowns for both the 168.004 and 168.010.

The domed ones have appeared on the earlier 'fully hidden' .004s and it has been suggested that they could have been an original option (as a semi-hidden crown) but I don't think there is any hard evidence of them being an original option on either .004s or .010s

They might improve the winding though. From fully impossible to "only" a massive PITA 😁

My personal theory is that is exactly why they show up on the earlier watches!

Thank you for all the responses @Peemacgee and @MtV. I didn't know this long conversation was going on. I expected to see notices in my email about follow ups but never did. Anyway, thanks again.

The Ebay link is still valid. The caliper picture is a bit concerning since it is almost 1mm too small: 2.93 vs 3.75 as shown above.

@No Mercy si that crown for sale?
