There was a clue in the crossword puzzle today that I figured would be easy, but instead I needed to fill in a bunch of letters before I could guess it. 😵‍💫

I did not expect that the puzzle would provoke non watch-related controversy. Please note that the clue for Ashe was specifically regarding the name of the stadium. 🙄

Please note: I am German and knew Arthur Ashe immediately when I saw the picture, the name...., without any "controverse debate" in my mind.

No controversy at my end! One poster said Arthur _______ Stadium? All I did was add the name Ashe!

Then what did you mean by adding “Is that a problem?”?

60 across should be "Rolex"

You're welcome.

Let’s consult Kevin O’Leary clear this whole thing up.
I watched another video on Seiko with him and Teddy B. What an asshole!

I intermittently am a regular player with the NYT crossword app. Think this forum’s members are opinionated? We’re a bunch of self-effacing English butlers compared to the comments section there. A good proportion of daily NYT crossword players have seemingly never, ever enjoyed a moment of it.

Ha! That reminds me of an experience my parents had back in the 1970s. They got sucked into listening to a timeshare condo pitch because they were promised they'd be given a Bulova watch just for listening. After making it through hours of haranguing and pressure to sign on to a timeshare, which they refused to do, they were finally given their "Bulova" watch. Except that it was a fake. It actually said Bolivia on the dial.
