    hey OF
Ive come across a crosshair pie pan on sale 14902 62 SC but ive never seen this kind of dial. The
seller tells me everything is original. Can you guys see anything wrong with this watch?
My concern is that i havnt seen the model 14902 with (officially certified) mark on the dial
and i cant seem to find any on google with this kind of dial with crosshair...
    Thanks

You do see some 14902’s with ‘officially certified’ on the dial, especially being a late serial number (20360149). One of the last before going over to ref. 168.005 I would say.
The dial looks original in my opinion. There’s some slight bubbling/patina but it’s not offensive and is very even across the dial.
There’s evidence of rotor rub on the case back though strangely enough the rotor itself doesn’t look too bad, ... slightly suspicious! The movement looks clean and evenly coloured.
The case presents really well with little sign of polishing and no major dings or scratches. The crown looks to be a later (correct) service replacement, originals have been obsolete for many years. The hands look correct with exception of the seconds hand which seems a little short. - maybe a cut down job!

If you don’t mind me asking how much is the seller after?

The crown looks like an original scalloped style that some of the 14900/14902s shared with 14381/14393s

Too wide, sadly. Also, IMO the scalloped one is only correct for the the 14.3XXs :)

I’ll buy the thickness of the crown (it was a bit of a punt TBH) but I’m sure some OF stalwart posted a dogleg with a scalloped crown - suggesting it was original (as it was contemporaneous with the 143XXs)

It'll fit the case, no doubt, but I highly doubt that it ever came on one originally. The sheer number of 1490Xs with decagonal crowns make it unlikely, but it could have been a smaller run of course :)

The ‘correct’ crown for Connies (pre-hidden crown) is a hexagonal crown (some fat, others thin - but that’s for another thread)
However, there are sufficient 14381/14393s with a scalloped crown that it’s generally accepted that this can also be correct for these references.
(But there is no defined reasoning why Omega should have done this. -e.g US issue)

I seemed to recall that someone credible posted a dogleg Connie with a scalloped crown suggesting it was original to the watch.
As that watch was produced around the same time as the 14381/14393 (but not a commonly seen variant) it may have been part of a small production run of uncommon doglegs with scalloped crowns.

However, @ConElPueblo pointed out that the crown on the watch above is the wrong thickness.

Link to @ConElPueblo ’s thread on the scalloped Connie crown.

    Hope that helps

$950 seems very reasonable, especially when you consider the bracelet is worth $150 - $200. Having said that I am UK based so maybe we are just used to paying more.
Unless the seller can prove otherwise factor in the cost of a service.
