Still learning and I came across this one the other day. I couldn’t find another like it when digging around so I thought I’d ask what you all think? Did these come with sparkly dials?

I am no expert, but I would say that the sparkle dials come from the other end of the 1960s. As cool as it is, I think its a redial.

Thanks guys! Thought as much as the sparkle dials I’ve seen are from the later 60s but figured I’d ask as its good to learn from those that know better

Regardless as to whether sparkle dials were a thing in the early 60’s, look at the quality of the print. The thickness, spacing, alignment etc. it’s appalling.

Agreed! I never doubted it was a redial I was asking on the “sparkle” application on the dial as I was unsure how early that was an option

I’m not sure what you mean. When a dial is refinished the dial body finish is also removed, so if the text is refinished, so is the dial body in 99% of cases.

This is bad enough that it is being added to my worst redials library.

I was asking how early an example from omega with the sparkle applied dial was offered. I’m unfamiliar with those dials in general so wanted to learn more about them and I have. Thanks for the replies

Are those sparkle dials rare?
If this is a serious question - there is no such thing as a sparkle dial dogleg.

I just meant if sparkle dials in general are rare. Like waffle dials for example.

Other than the shitty text, one tell is the 're' spelling of chronometer. It is either vanishing rare or non existent on a dog leg as it was phased out in 58-59

Sparkles aren't rare on 60s Seamasters no but are damn rare to the point of unicorn on Connies
