Treehouse opened up here on Cape Cod.
Treehouse rules. One of the only good things to come out of Massachusetts in the last hundred years 😉

My grandmother brought me one back from Scotland when she visited there in the mid 90s. I'll hang up my cowboy hat and wear my cap when I'm driving my Miata.

Big fan of double IPA’s and best of all Treehouse opened up here on Cape Cod. They produce some of the best beer ( not just DIPA’s ) anywhere. In a few weeks I’ll be drinking their stouts which are also highly regarded.
Treehouse is always experimenting with different hop combinations and producing interesting new beers filled with juiciness

Beside this wonderful Treehouse Seven DIPA
Among many other fabulous people and “things” to have come out of this state we have in Massachusetts breweries like Trillium Sam Adams Harpoon, awesome lobster rolls + fish and chips, lovely beaches and sunsets, fabulous institutions of higher education like MIT not to mention the Crimson in Cambridge. The list goes on-would take too much time to go on!

I was over the "everything IPA" years ago. I want a beer, not a masochistic experience

My favorite style is still an old school West Coast IPA. However, most of the crap IPA styles getting peddled these days are garbage.

I’ve been seeking out Pilsners, ESBs, and English style pub ales lately. Nice to enjoy more subtle beers.

Yeah, I agree the change to New Castle and others is terrible in my opinion.

Used to love the craft beer scene. We’ve got a small grocery in my neighborhood with the wall of beer. Gradually all the variety has disappeared and it’s all IPAs or Bourbon barrel stouts.

I’ve gone back to pilsners and kolsch.

Saw a commercial for a new Stella with a citrus kick, anyone tried this? I’m a huge Stella fan, but not sure about a citrus licker.

I used to hate IPA, and now it's pretty much all I want to drink, with an occasional stout or Scotch Ale tossed in there. But mostly I want an IPA. That being said there are some great ones and there are some that are truly awful.

One of my absolute favorites is Coronado Brewing Co. Weekend Vibes IPA - it's probably the best value I know of too, as it's a 6 pack of 16oz cans for about $11. A little under 7% ABV, delicious, and the extra 4 ounces typically keeps me from reaching for another. There are so many beers available, but I keep coming back to that one as just being great.

But for interesting and NOT IPA, there is a brewer here in AZ called Huss that makes a "Koffee Kolsch" which is phenomenal. It's a pale golden color, but tastes strongly of coffee. It's really interesting. Their sister brand Papago also makes an Orange-vanilla wheat beer that is like Blue Moon, but way better.

You know IPA is done when Pabst is making one. 😁

I'm a little surprised at my lack of Oktoberfest. I'll have to hit one of the bigger liquor stores to find more than just Leinenkugel.

Just tried an Octoberfest Marzen from a local craft brewery.

Who was/is the perpetrator? 3 Daughters? Green Bench? lol.
I won't lie though I have given in to the IPA hype a little over the years.
Started with Stone IPA around 10 years ago. But the last couple of years I have been moving away from it.
It's not the lack of exercise making me fatter...it's the IPA's. 👍

Had the Sierra Nevada Oktoberfest a few days ago. God it was terrible.

Good to know. I usually stick to locals... there are very many small breweries in Wisconsin making award-winning beer, some of them since the 1800s.

3 Daughters, if you really want to know. I stopped drinking at Green Bench when I drank an over-hopped Porter there a few years ago! 3 Dughters has always been a slightly over-hopped for my tastes, but at least their ales still tasted like an ale. Not so with their Marzen.

Maybe 10 years ago 8 or so friends and I got together and did a blind taste test of Oktoberfest beers. We had 12 beers from micro and macro breweries. Sam Adams Oktoberfest took the night. It was a little shocking but to this day it’s a solid option. Some of the places near me weren’t bottling at the time, Trapp for example, and would likely win that taste test if we did it again.
