Hi there guys.

Just found this Cosmic with strange dots just after the 5 and 11 hour mark.

I have seen those before I believe on a Cosmic 2000 as well. Does anyone have any sort of idea as to what they are and what’s their purpose? Very intriguing.

Any info will be much appreciated!

I'd hazard a guess that they are the dial feet, given their position and being 180 degrees apart, but why they appear like that is unclear. Maybe someone replaced the dial feet, damaging the dial? Not sure..

I really doubt that this is it. It would be too much of a coincidence that I found a different Cosmic with that same dots… unless it isn’t? I need to find the pictures. Very interesting

Also if you look closely the bottom one has some sort of a cap on it… As I said, very strange

Hi, I have a couple of these Cosmic 2000s, I really like them..
I've never seen dial feet rivets (?) like this before perhaps it's some kind of repair, although I've never seen dial feet repair like this before.

I did have couple in the past too. My watchmaker told me that someone simply butchered the job. They drilled through the dial and then fixed the feet back on. Terrible. I told the guy I want the transaction cancelled as he hid that from me (I honestly didn’t pay enough attention…). Bummer as the dial itself had a beautiful shade of greyish blue

Yeah, that's exactly what it looks like..
I've never seen anything like that before..
David Bill & Sons might be able to put them right and then match the paint, but I would think it'll probably cost quite a bit..
If I remember rightly Gleave & Co had some NOS dials you might want to give them a try.
Good luck!

Little bit late of a response but I will definitely have a look. I scored couple of Cosmics already so I’m alway happy to have more. They’re too big for my wrist but it’s a pleasure to look at the dial. Shame that the movement is so fragile. Had a few that needed fixing
