Correct buckle - Flagship 101

Hi, can anyone tell what would be a period correct buckle for my -57 Flagship, please?

I'm wondering if the Flagship series started with that "UNROC" style buckle or if for example the "Large eagle" buckle would be correct match?

From photos I have found it seems that 1960 Flagships already had the "UNROC" style one, but I haven't been able to find examples from those late -50s Flagships.

Not the definitive answer and related to conquest. Might be useful.

Shame that the old advertisements usually don’t show a buckle.

Let us know what you find out.

FWIW.

Thanks a lot for the adverticement picture. That settles it then, the "big eagle" it is (unfortunately quite expensive too 😅).

Also thanks to everyone else who answered and shared info!

Thanks for the link to that thread. I read it through and did some addition research.

Not 100% sure but my current understanding is that like in that linked thread was said there was this shorter winged, but larger mid section eagle (right one on the photo [credits to previous, linked thread poster]) on the models from 1954 to 1957.

But because logo changed to more wide and smaller mid section eagle (left one on the photo) in 1957 I think Flagship came with that one. Because Flagship was a new release in 1957. This is also supported by the adverticement picture on this thread.

Then in 1960 Flagships changed to the "UNROC" style buckles.

Now, what I'm not sure about is where the difference is between the left one on the photo below (clasp pin doesn't cut in to the logo) and the one in my first post on this thread (clasp pin cuts to the logo).

Hmm, I do see that buckle with clasp pin cutting to the logo on Conquest 9020/9021 adverticement picture. So maybe it was for Conquest only, who knows.

This is quite puzzling.
He's making a joke. We do that a lot on the forum because we get to know each other well, by interacting for years.

I think I found and bought a correct match for 1957-1959 Flagship. Just for reference if someone search this thread later.

Hi, having done the original research on the Conquest thread and repeated this again when I purchased a 401 Flagship. I 100% agree this is a correct buckle that is backed up with advertising photos from the time and also see an example on longines30l https://longines30l.com/longserie/10444248.htm with an original different style buckle with same logo.

However as pointed out at the time they were dealer add on in most cases at that time so I also believe you would find flagship examples with the shorter wing eagle logo too as just could not see a dealer at the time disposing of old stock buckles and staps as the logo transitioned in 1957.

The one on the original thread is actually tje 1954-57 style as the actual buckle shape is different and chunkier
