Hi,

I'm looking for a correct box and outer box for my 145.022 -69ST "Pre moon".

By first problem is finding out what type of box is correct, I see all kinds of different boxes sold with this model, and I guess lots of them have been paired with the box on a later date?

Any experts here?

Thanks for the help!

Here are some I've found so far:

Depends on the year but if a pre-moon -69 go with the 1501 box (middle picture) if it’s a SW go with a crater box…if you can find one. (First picture). Last picture is for a -76 or so I think.

Thank you so much! It's a pre-moon -69. I'll try finding a 1501 box, any tips on where to look?

I'm not familiar with what SW means 😀

Does it exsist a webpage with an overview of all the different boxes? Would be a great resource 😀

Where to buy: eBay or once in a while they turn up here in the For Sale section.

SW = Straight writing, a caseback inbewteen pre moon and the modern look.

Resources: here or buy the book Moonwatch Only. Speedmaster101.com is a good resource on the watch itself but not as much on the boxes.

I have a pre-moon (145.022-69), with DON bezel and comes with a crater box...

It very much depends on which market/country the watch originally sold in.

You are right of course.
My answer was meant as a general timeline answer for someone who wants to create a married set and not go into a rabbit hole that may or may not end up with a "right" answer. It is almost impossible to know what box it was paired with it originally, like you said depends on the country and what the dealer had in stock at the moment. But for someone that just wants a black and white answer I think what I said is generally appropriate..... and I think we can all agree the last box pictured is just wrong for that watch. 😀
