So my friend won this auction on Ebay for like ~1200usd, impulse bid of course. Seller only posted these photos attached, but now he may has second thought.
For me it looks like a 2852 with dial turning yellowish and with tiny dots, no movement photos so no comment, caseback looks good. Any thoughts on this?

Very little may be determined by the photos. The dial looks quite decent under the beat crystal. Second hand's suspect, an odd hue.

He gave about all the watch is worth ... if it's "right" under the hood. With unknown movement condition it's a pig-in-a-poke.

The dial might be better than the example in the watch menagerie I keep.

you are right just notice the different hue of second hand. Well it is a gamble here.

I threw in a bid at the last second and was surprised at the price this finally reached. Hope it works out well for your friend.

Looks good to me ( apart from the replaced seconds hand ), I would also have bid had I seen it, but not up to $1200. Without movement pictures and with obviously needing a hand and a service it looks like Euro 800-850 to me.

I think that looks very good. The case is extremely nice and I cannot find any obvious flaws on the dial apart from the spotting on the outer circumference. Price wise it is probably a tad expensive, but that would depend on the movement.

Pie-pan dial and arrowhead markers is a winning combination, especially combined with a sharp case.

Second hand looks badly rusted but still correctly rodium plated in the middle, it just needs to be replated by a decent watchmaker. My guy would do it for around $100, so if the movements ok I think he did ok. He could get a nice price for under $1500 all said and done.

Oh also, here is mine were chilling on a cool florida day..

Is a gorgeous watch! The white gold ones seem to all take on that nice deep creme patina I guess they used brass dials for these, but your friend should be proud, he got one of the best connies ever made and will only become more desirable. A fine watch, don't sweat the details, it will more than pay for itself and in today's market to find one unmolested for under $1500 your doing well in my book. There is just not as many of these as the later connies so he should be happy.

Damn. I've been stalking eBay and how have I not come across this.

What was the title of the item? Need to refine my eBay creeping process. [emoji23]

Piepan with WG arrowhead markers - uncommon and this one looks like a nice example. I would say $1200 is not a bad price for the watch.

Appalling photography. I think it is one of those items that will turn out better than anybody thinks from the pics.
