Continuing my sell-off today with this very nice and quite hard to find 18kt waffle dialed Constellation 2648. The Constellation line was introduced in 1952 after the success of the Centenary model with the references 2648 and 2652. The watch here is a ref 2648 with the chronometer calibre 354. These first references came with quite a wide selection of dial variances and this one has a beautiful cream waffle with arabics. The 18kt gold snap back case is in good shape and I have just recently had a new decagonal crown fitted. The case back has a sharp observatory with excellent definition. There is a very small indentation in the case back, hardly noticeable but worth mentioning, this can be seen in the picture. The dial is fresh and beautiful and in excellent condition. With its distinctive waffle finish, gold hands and indices together with the arabic cardinals it's really stunning on the wrist. The cal 354 has a nice early 13 million serial number dating to approx 1952. The movement is winding, setting and running well. It is keeping good time but has not been serviced whilst in my ownership.
