Considering buying - Omega Seamaster cal 601

Hi all,

I am new to this forum and am currently residing in Serbia. I have many interesting opportunities to buy here vintage Omega Watches.

One watch that i am considering is this Omega Seamaster cal 601. I was trying to find more info about this model and i coudlt find the exact same dial and hands. I belive the watch is original but that its a redial or something and that the hands are not original.

The asking price for it is 210 euros and they said it work good.

Appreciate any help here and if you think its a good deal.

Dial in poor condition, hands are not omega. On the other hand it is not expensive. If you like it enough and you are going to wear it, it might be a wearer. Me, I would pass.

That’s an absolute dog. Even at €210 I’d pass. I don’t think I’d buy it at 100.

Do you know some more details about the watch?
Mainly what is the specific year/model for this dial and if the dial is original and what is the watch diameter?

The reference is 135.070 from inside the case-back. Google that to find the diameter. Read the serial number from the movement and use a chart to find the year of production. The dial is plausibly original, but in poor condition. The movement is also in poor shape. I don't see this as a good investment for a project.

Due to the condition of the dial and having to change the hands for not being original, I would pay around 100e, perhaps a little more
That watch has what was called the piguet reform, which is a lever for center seconds, which was made to easily turn independent seconds movement to center seconds movements only adding a few parts. As the trends changed more and more customers wanted center seconds, and this way brands could refurbish movements and not build one completely from scratch. It was victorin piguet who developed this and several brands utilised it
