Hi!

I'm considering buying a vintage piece for myself, I found a working gold cap Seamaster ref 14701-1 with a cal 662.

I tried to find others like that one online and on the omega site but I couldn't find exactly the same one. Can you guys help identifying it? Is it authentic? Is it a frankenwatch?

The seller is asking for $350, is it worth it?

Thank you very much!

Pass, the interesting characteristic of the 14700/14701 case are the heavily chamferred/bevelled lugs. On this example that bevel has almost completely disappeared due to heavy/over polishing.

I have one that is exactly the same, and I agree with above, that case is a disaster.

I will be selling mine, by the way.

Just to note, that's a cal 562, which is correct. You may have misread or maybe it was a typo. If you don't want the date, look for 14700, cal 552 or 550. And look for the sharp facets on the lugs, which may be harder with gold cap then stainless steel. I'm certain that @SkunkPrince will be selling a very nice example.
