Hello, Im new to the forum and was looking for some advice on a potential purchase. Im not sure if this speedy .005 has some pitting issues or just needs a thorough cleaning? The watch is from thr Florida coast region. The back also looks to have a lot of wear/warn down with some of the paint removed from the lettering. Should I be concerned? There's a lot of dark spots in the crevices and it doesnt look like its ever been cleaned. This watch has also never been serviced. Its a year 2020. Thanks for any/all of your valuable feedback!

It looks like it needs to be cleaned pretty thoroughly but I don't see anything serious other than maybe a scratch on the bracelet (1 of 12)? Please highlight what you think may be signs of damage or corrosion? Keep in mind that the pushers and Crown reflect very heavily off of the case and I can see that present in the images (9 of 12)

Thanks for the feedback. In picture (6 of 12) on the lower left hand side it looks like there is some gouging down the caseback. I haven't been able to see the watch in person yet so looking for an option from a trained eye. My concern with the potential corrosion was due to the discoloration seen o n several of the pictures. I trust the communities feedback and if it is just dirt/needs a thorough cleaning then that shouldn't raise any major redflags. It comes with original purchase receipt, all boxes, warranty card and all original accessories. Price is 5k after taxes and fees. Does this look like a reasonable price for the package? I see what appear to be a lot of bracelet reflections on the caseback in image 6 of 12, hard to tell if there's actual scratching. May want to get a better caseback picture or examine in person.

Who is the seller? The retail of this watch (when it was new) was like 5,300. I think 5k is a bit steep, even if it does have some warranty left. I recently picked up a 1863 with the same extras in almost unworn condition from a local watchmaker (essentially gray market, not a private individual seller) and paid essentially what they're asking for this hesalite 311.

Thanks for the reply. The seller is a jewelry/art auction house out of Florida. Im in WA ST so I cannot make it to see the watch in person. The purchase price is ~$4400, but comes out to $5K after WA ST sales tax and shipping. I liked that it comes with all the documentation. Its a model year 2020, so I have less then a year left on the warranty.

If you can do without the box and papers there are often these going at auction no reserve like this one:

https://www.ebay.com/itm/226002829413

They often go sub-$4k, sometimes even low $3k range which is a considerable saving

Thanks for the feedback. Really appreciate you sharing the ebay links as well. I like the box and papers because Im planning on holding onto the watch for many years... but you know how that goes 😀

Nice, I'm located in Vancouver, WA. I recently purchased from a watchmaker in Portland OR (with obvious benefit of tax). The price makes more sense with shipping and WA tax.

This reference isn't super uncommon, I think it might be worth doing a bit more shopping around, either for better pictures, a better price, or just to see one in person.

Thanks! Do you have any feedback on local watchmakers where I can go and see this in person? I was thinking about driving to the Beaverton AD to check out some in person, but I'm looking for used for the cost savings.

Yes! There is a local watchmaker that is really into speedmasters.
