Hello,
This is my first post here so apologies if I break any forum rules or etiquette.

I have had a growing interest in watches the last 10 years, and have a couple of vintage watches.

Lately I have become interested in the Omega Seamasters from the 50s and 60s.

I have found a watch for sale in Norway that I consider buying.
I was hoping that you could have a look at the attached photos and let me know if there is something that seems "off" with this watch?
The seller seems like a very trustworthy fellow.
He says the watch has not been serviced in his ownership, but it runs ok.

The watch almost looks too good I think😀. Is it normal that watches this old has so few signs of wear?
He is asking approximately 1000€

What do you think?

Best regards
Torstein

I just received some additional photos, of the movement .
Does this look like its correct for this watch?
Can this really be 70 years old😁?

Thank you Dan,
Yes, it is expensive. I guess I could make the seller an offer.

But, do you think the dial could be the original one?

Yes, the dial could certainly be original. I own this 1952 2635 with a honeycomb dial which I know to be original.

Thank you for your advice all of you.
I will have a look at the private watch sales thread.
Of course, I‘ll hav to take into consideration that I will have to add 25% of the sales price for the Norwegian customs , if I buy abroad.

I will make the seller an offer I think, around the 800-700mark

Dibs!
I put a considerable amount of $ into getting this watch into top condition. My guess is that you wouldn't want to pay what I'd have to ask just to break even. 🙁 But it sure is beautiful, isn't it? 🥰

As long as you are ok with the size. IMO, it could be a nice watch for a collection, but it's too small for me to wear. The "standard" Seamasters are more typically in the 34-35mm range, which is more wearable.

Yes, the size is a tad smaller than I am used to.
I have a Lancia (not related to the car) clock from the early sixties that is 35mm, and I think that is a perfect size, so perhaps I´ll take your advice and search for a later one that's slightly bigger

Well, I fell in love with the 2635, despite its size 😗
I got it for just below 800€, converted from NOK. Still a bit expensive, but the want was too strong😁
...and as mentioned earlier, I would have to have added 25% to any watch bought from abroad.

Thank you for all your advice and information, I´ll update the thread with a couple of pictures when I get the watch.
