for choosing one of them, I would go for The Conquest. I love its pink gold colour and ring around the miniute mark. but keep them all is the easiest choice I think.

Provided nobody is holding the gun to my head, I'm definitely keeping them both!

Haha, nice report but I favour the Longines in all categories. Great new piece.

How can one choose? They are both beautiful, precious, the right age and continuing to age well...

The score should have ended up 3 - 2 in favor of the Longines because the 290 series blows away the 50x series on technical merit, but you left that category out. The winding system is more durable and efficient.
In a one-on-one comparison, I'd have to agree. However, it is hardly fair as the Longines is quite a bit newer and has better technology.

It's like comparing a 1956 Chevy Bel-Air to a 1965 Ford Mustang. Both classic today, but later cars had some things that weren't available on earlier ones.

57 Belaire to a 57 Pontiac Super Chief... very similar but one stands out just a bit more.

True. A better comparison would be a gold dialed DeLuxe with a caliber 561 against the Conquest - and I still say the Longines wins on technical merit, only in that instance it would be less of a gap.

Or the Omega cal. 505 vs. the Longines 19AS.

I prefer the Connie. Longines mirror efect hurt the readibility in my opinion

Are you one of those guys that wear a watch to actually tell you the time? That's what your iPhone is for!

What a wonderful dilemma. If I could have only one, I would take the Connie. But its great you get to have both of them.

Thanks for the fun comparison! For pure aesthetics I prefer the look of the Connie. Refined bling that doesn't look overly dated even today! The Conquest is very cool! Definitely retro 1960s, but I think that the conquest faceted dial is a bit too showy for me. I'm sure it looks very different in real life. Both watches are fantastic, thanks again for sharing!

8 months further, I must confess I prefer the Conquest.

I'm wearing the Connie today, but the Conquest gives me just a little more of that Precioussss [/Gollum] feeling.

I prefer the Constellation. The shape of the lugs, and yellow gold with white face does more for me than the pink gold.

I do have a yellow gold Connie Deluxe now, but a Head2Head with a pink (let's say 2853) would be even more fair.

Who's selling me one? 😁
