Picked up an 166.054 in NOS condition recently. I haven’t seen as many non-Anchor versions; what time period were these produced? Are they more or less rare than the Anchor versions?

Well, I got my first Diver Admiralty, but it's not an Omega! Rather than waiting for Omega to reissue this unsung hero, Microbrand Dan Henry released an homage to the diver Admiralty with the 1975 Skin Diver. I'm VERY impressed!

Can we see some pics? I was pretty surprised to see the extent to which that line "borrowed" from the Omega Admiralty's, especially with how critical DH was when Omega released the Chronoscope, saying (quite vocally) they were taking design cues from DH's 1939 line.

Edit to say: The DH line knocks it out of the park as far as modern reinterpretations are concerned.

I like what he's doing (and I've owned a DH 1970 in the past), but he has no business criticising anyone for stealing design cues.

Of course it's not an exact copy, but it definitely has many of the characteristic design elements of a Diver Admiralty in a modern (39mm in this case) size without making it too large or too thick. Very tastefully done and at a great price.

My first Dan Henry! Heads up from @DIV and I pounced. Considering the price, first impressions are solid! I got the white dial with sapphire bezel. At 39mm (automatic w/date) wears and feels almost exact to a 166.054. A small 39mm, so sits similarly on the wrist to the 37mm Omega Admiralty (diver). So far, loving it!

Hello everyone,

I've been searching for an Admiralty the past month and I am grateful for the thread and the wealth of knowledge inside.

I found this at a watchmakers and he said he might be willing to sell soon - hoping to go back next week and see if he's interested. It's in mint condition and all original. Can anyone help ID this model and if possible, what it might be worth on the marketplace at this stage?

Nice looking longhorn.

Price is subjective. Where is it, bricks and mortar store or on-line, how long has it been for sale?

I'd try to keep it well below 3 figures, but I suspect the asking will be above that.

I was anticipating $1600-2000

From a business, I reckon that's what you'll pay. I've seen a couple advertised around $2k AUD over the past couple of years.
Quite a few of the ones found in Australia are Queensland Rail issued watches (QR stamped on the back) so check that out if you haven't already. reference is 135.015 if you hadn't already worked that out.

Hi, thank you so much for this thread it's a gold mine!
I kind of joined the club 12 years ago with an admiralty diver in grey (166.054 with 565) for which I was missing the bezel, the hands and the crown. I reactivated my search a year ago I found a month ago a bezel and a crown!
Does anybody knows where to get the hands?

Reading entirely this thread it also made me fall in love with the red/burgundy version of the diver. I was lucky enough to find a good deal for a 166.054 case with a red bezel in very condition and a red dial. I have a spare 565 laying around, however the dial has no date window. I have seen in the post of Dr.Sascha that a diver version with the caliber 552 exists so automatic with no date. That would be perfect for me as it is easier to find a 552 caliber than a dial for a 565 in perfect condition. Does anybody else can confirm this version 166.054 with 552? Or if someone has red dial with date he wants to sell I'm more than interested 😀
Thanks!
