If you’re interested at all in modern and contemporary art, then I can heartily recommend the Berardo Collection Museum in Belem (near Lisbon). My wife and I greatly enjoyed it a number of years ago.

They hold work by e.g. Pollock, Lissitzky, Picasso, Mondriaan, Warhol, Lichtenstein, Dali, and a personal favorite of mine Sol LeWitt. The building itself is nice, too.

I'm heading to Porto next week for ten days to work on a project at Serralves--probably won't have time for a trip to Lisbon --so any suggestions for Porto? Markets? Restaurants? Local specialties? Besides port, I mean?

.

Go to McDonald's on Liberdade Square in central Porto, it's rather different 😉.

And then for some real food (especially sea food), go across the river to Afurada and find a restaurant called Armazém do Peixe.

I love Portugal. Amazing country culture and people. I’m from Spain…. Portugal is just something else.

Lisbon is a must. Driving all around is fun but I specially like the drive to the south (algarbe) is you’re lucky though you can drive a little north to
Nazare. It’s hit or miss but when the waves are there we’re talking record breaking surfing.

But man, the architecture, food, people. Amazing

Afruda? Got it. Nazare? Check.

"But man, the architecture, food, people. Amazing"

Thanks, I'm especially looking forward to all three.
