Any Moccamaster users? I’ve heard amazing things, thinking of picking one up to save me some morning time vs. my usual Chemex pour over set up.

I have the OneCup version. It makes great coffee.

I concur…. I’ve had my moccamaster for about two weeks…

And for beans, I’m a sucker for 100% Kona coffee, when the Mrs and I last went tot the big island we toured Greenwell farms, one of the original coffee plantations on the island, GREAT coffee…

I do need a better grinder if anyone has any suggestions?

Will have to check out these Moccamasters. They look awesome and get great reviews. It would mean changing coffee style for me, as I normally brew espresso...

I'm also considering switching up brewing methods. I've been making 2-3 single cups per day using an Aeropress for going on 4 years. I'm thinking of something that will make those 2-3 cups at one time.

I'm considering the Moccamaster, but am also interested in the Breville Precision Brewer. Anyone have any experience with that one? Might be too big for what I need.

what are you heading towards?
Not sure, but a manual pump one seems interesting enough.

I am absolutely loving this moccamaster! I was doing pour over in a Chemex every morning, fantastic coffee but this is just as good. I set it up with a smart plug programmed to a certain digital assistant who shall remain nameless… Wake up to fresh coffee already made!

Any grand masters of latte art? I always appreciated going to coffee shop that would take the time to make some nice designs on your order. Doesn't change the taste obviously but always adds to the experience overall.

I'm just a straight black coffee drinker, so I'm no judge of latte design. They all look fancy to me.

Fantastic thread! I’ve been drinking coffee since I’m a kid. Absolutely need my morning fix.
We presently have the Breville Barista. A competent machine that we’ve Had for 7 years almost. Getting parts for a regular maintenance is a pain. I still can’t get a group gasket. Amazon has some at 10X the price of an original Breville. We’re thinking to upgrade and hopefully make it our last machine. We’ve boiled it down between the Rancilio Silvia Pro and the Rocket Apartamento. Both are within the prices we’re willing to pay. The Rancilio has the edge with its PID and double boilers. My wife is an absolute latte drinker. Thoughts?

Hello Faz

I can give you a few addresses to get some spares. If you are a big fan of latte depending on you budget take a heat exchanger or a dual boiler. the volume of the boiler on an hx machine is of course deeply related to the quantity of steam you can have. then, it's a matter of group you prefer. E61, saturated., etc etc. If you want a PID and so on. The only concern about a dual boiler is the quantity of hot water available even if the cold ater warmes up quickly. With a HX you will have hot water as long as there's some in you tank but you will have to make a little flush before making you expresso in order not to burn your coffeee.
Don't take a single boiler, temp surfing can be a pain.
if you have the budget, take a rotrary pump. Best quality price/specs ratio is probably Expobar.

Thanks so much for the advice. Feel free to PM a source for parts. Thanks again!
