Could be. This old grinder will make the beans powder if you're not careful. And I wasn't careful hah. Color was pretty good though.
And speaking of machines, who crafted your knobs? Those sure are pretty!
Cheers! They are Wiedemann olive wood.

I am super lazy and as long as my coffee tastes like coffee I’m happy. I use a Toddy for cold brew, just a big plastic tub with a hole in the bottom. In goes a filter bag, 12 ounces of ground coffee (I buy Costco pre-ground), which works out to two red solo cupsful, and 8 cups of water. I let it sit overnight, drain, and enjoy. I usually dilute the concentrate one to one.

I loved my Toddy! I had that thing down to a science. Should've just stuck with that.
I'm not quite sure why I got rid of it. I think I broke carafe that the tub sat upon.
I ended up with a similar system that made like a super concentrate instead, and I never really used it. The Toddy would last me the full work week where as this one I was having to brew every few days.
This Kitchenaid setup pretty much does the same thing but I'm determined to get it down to a science as well.

It’s not without its flaws. It’s unwieldy, I hate the loose handle, the vanes on the bottom are sharp, and before I discovered the filter bags, it was a real pain to clean up. But there is no denying the end result is worth it.

Got a new grinder. Takes about a minute to grind, which I do while the water is heating,so no extra time. The adjustments in grind actually make a difference, which I was skeptical about. I wanted a quieter burr grinder and this is it.

Nice…
Do enjoy a hand grind. Have a similar Japanese made one. Gets a run every so often. (But drink too often to always use it)

Far too caffeinated most days here...

Breville & Flare at home, compact traditional Nespresso machine on the desk at work. Prefer traditional Nespresso over vertuo for espresso

Yesterday we went to pick up our machine on the way back from a camping trip.

After a brief course on how to setup and operate the machine we took these nice packages home 😊

I will post an update once unpacked

And here it is:

Need to work on it, but we managed to adjust it to „quite good“ already 😊

Used Gaggia Anima that needed cleaning, some repair, and maintenance. It's making some good coffee now.

How do you like the grinder? I have a Eureka with manual adjustment. It works well if I pick the beans and set it and forget it. It's always a battle to dial it in for different beans though.

I don‘t have a lot of experience and comparisons as this is my very first setup. But I like the grinder.

Dialing in worked quite smooth in like 4-5 shots. But my dealer also stated that the beans he gave me are particularly nice and forgiving for beginners - he specifically told me to test other beans afterwards and predicted that I will come back 😅

After one week I felt today the the taste changed and I might have to do some slight adjustments - not sure if it actually can be the weather that changed 😄

They'll change over time just sitting around. Lots of variables at play 😄

Old school... still pulling lever shots with my LaPavoni, and roasting beans with my Mini-Monster.
