Anyone have any experience or info on the brand? Saw one when browsing Craigslist and was curious.

I googled it and came up with very limited information

Nice little item. Totally useless in today's world but it'd be nice to have if the price is right.

It could have been used by:

A sonar operator to time return pings, thus distance from target?
A Torpedo Officer to time a torpedo run from launch to impact?
A Deck Officer to time depth charges from surface impact to detonation?

I don't know for sure. It will require a lot of research.

Nice watch. Clear made some nice chronographs, which are popular with collectors, but I know little about the company.

Does $250 sound unreasonable? I know very little about pocket watches but would love to pick something up..

Nice looking, looks to be in excellent condition, original box...no, that sounds like a fair price.

    I assume you mean USD$?

Probably slightly high, but not enough to kill the deal.

But I don't factor cost into my watch wants, if it's nice and I want it I buy it.

I think it is more likely to be an artillery stopwatch, so that you could estimate the distance from firing to landing...

edit: or more likely to work out muzzle velocity to calibrate artillery pieces for ranging in the field

I dont think its a ranging watch, just a regular tachymeter scale. The numbers are descending.
If it was ranging, the numbers on the scale would be ascending.
