Cleaning without Screw-down Crown

I'm sure there's tons of cleaning advice available on the forum, and I tried searching but couldn't quite find what I'm looking for. I have a 310.30.40.50.06.001 Speedy, and I've accumulated what I will, with great sophistication, call gunk around the crown and the pushers. This is from everyday wear for seven or eight months.
I'd like to clean this area, but I'm not sure the best approach, since I don't want any liquid to infiltrate. What's the best method for getting at the tight spaces around the crown and pushers? Thanks for your help!

It's a modern Speedmaster. Just rinse it in water. Use a bit of dish soap and a soft toothbrush to agitate the debris & gunk if rinsing only is insufficient. Wipe off with a microfiber cloth after.

Just don't wind the crown or operate the pushers until everything is fully air dried.

I simply sharpen a toothpick to dig out the goo and a small brush. Oh, and some magnification.

I use peg wood with the ends shaped to points or chisel blade shapes. A small artists brush with the bristles cut back by 2/3 so they're stiffer.
For dusting away the residue I use a slightly larger artist brush. For persistent spots, I apply a small drop of water or IPA or even saliva, waith for it to soften and then remove.
For getting around pushers and other areas I cut old soft cotton material into thin strips and "floss" the area.

Unless you know the state of the seals I wouldn't put it under running water. The other suggestions are good to get the gunk out from around the crown and pushers.

Right! Ask me how I know!
