Clasp advice?

I've never had any problem using an after market deployant buckle with a strap that originally had a tang buckle.

Perhaps it's down to wrist size.

Pictured below at the top of the photo is a Hirsch Artisan strap which is standard size, it's sat next to my Omega oem straps for deployant clasp, it's a good bit shorter from the 12 position and would not fit my wrist if it was fitted to the clasp.

So I bought the moon watch, my first omega, and I sourced an aftermarket strap I feel in love with and I love the combo. Should I spring for the omega deployant clasp or is there a better option price vs quality that I need to look at?

Any advice would help thx
Just dug up 2 OEM Genuine Omega Deployant 18mm clasps for $80.00 bucks each today. Deals are out there if you dig.

I'd like to see a picture of that one. You will find lots of fakes in eBay. More free advice.

Yep, lots of fakes, but genuine stands out. Can’t share photos because I’m looking at snatching them up. Just dig and you’ll find em. If I don’t grab em I’ll post pictures and the source.

Don't buy a replica clasp. Those things are not quality to begin with and you will be crying later when the spring bar fails and your watch falls off the wrist into the ocean.

If your strap can fit it, the clasp is a must-get. I bought one last week for my PO (same part). $250 is expensive for a steel clasp, but in life, you get what you pay for.. It's very high quality, looks cool, and has a nice tuck-under design so there's no need for an annoying keeper on the end.

Here's the P/N if you need it:

If they are truly genuine with an 80 dollar price tag then you don't hesitate and think it over....... you buy them. Two for $160....... you can hardly find one for that price in the classifieds. Like I stated in the last clasp thread, I'd be skeptical that they are truly genuine.

if you are talking about those brand new “genuine” Omega claps for $75 - some of which are gold-plated — they are definitely fake. Trust me. I made a mistake of buying one last year thinking I was getting a bargain and it would not stay closed properly. They are quite flimsy compare to real.

Absolutely I fell prey for one too. Lol
What I have found, especially on ebay, if you’re dealing with an individual or somebody that’s acting as a broker you can get great deals on a limited bases, you have to dig. 99.9% of the others are scamming junk sellers though.
I got these, at different intervals from a broker. OEM genuine Omega bracelet normally $800 and alligator strap normally $700, unused and in packaging; bracelet for $200 and strap for $85 from people just getting rid of them. The clasp are the same way and will probably jump on them, but visually check out so far. We’ll see. Bargains are there if you dig in the right places.

What do you say, I don't know, they look pretty legit to me? Real or Fake?

Please, I'd like his opinion, if it's fake, it's a damn good one?

My honest opinion....(and it's just that.... an opinion) it's fake. The machining isn't the greatest in a few areas like where it hinges and the other side that I circled looks more like a formed piece of metal rather than machined. Theres also bad machine Mark's on the other side but I think my 2 examples are enough. I pointed this stuff out in the last clasp thread where you insisted the clasps were genuine.

If it is real, then those pictures are not doing the clasp any justice. Also wheres the sealed plastic bag the clasp came in? Doesnt it have the omega part.number and other info on it?

I see what your talking about and I'm certainly not trying to validate this clasp as I haven't purchased it yet, but I'd like to see it in comparison to the same clasp. Your comparing it to the newer, brushed version which has slightly different dimensions too. Or just one of the experts here say ya or nay for this reason...

What does the seller say about the clasp, is he saying that it's 100% genuine or is he just saying that it's an Omega clasp for sale?

I've seen a head to head comparison and measurements done on the two Omega clasp side by side. The new (brushed) clasp is slightly larger in all dimensions from what they showed. There's a YouTube video on it, search Omega clasp comparison and you should be able to find it.

No, he's saying it is 100%, guaranteed original Omega.

They make the new style in every finish (brushed polished, or combo as well as ti. And ceramic) so saying the brushed one is different than another is confusing.

Okay, the one with the more "pointy" end to the top of the clasp, the polished version (as pictured) are more blunt and rounded and only come polished from what I've found.
