·What I find amusing is that there is so much cross training of interests among collectors. And that something like cigars are a collectible and have such value. I have been a pipe smoker for a while and the market for sealed vintage (aged) tins of pipe tobacco is insane. Tins of Dunhill they were $3.50 20-30 years ago selling for hundreds. It is indeed just like wine collectors.
I used to experiment with curing my own blends from various tins with some success. My favorite was a combination of a good Navy Flake and some northern Michigan maple goodness, some imported Madagascar vanilla, and my favorite whiskey!
Produced a lovely, rich smoke and a smooth flavor. The aftertaste was even pleasant.
