Finding IWC 89 Hands: Sourcing Advice for Watchmakers

Hi all-
A friend of mine had this lovely IWC 89 watch that he wore out to dinner and got home to discover it was missing a crystal (I removed the bezel, and have it) and two hands! He asked me to see if I could find aftermarket hands that would look 'right', as he cant seem to find any 'correct' ones.

The dial is about 28.5mm from 'dot to dot', so the second hand should be pretty long. I don't even know what to look for on this design (as they are fairly unique hands?), and have no idea on the post sizes.

Can anyone help me figure out what to look for?

Hah, AI told me earlier it was a 0.20mm second hand with no obvious source. I was hoping someone had a good source... Ranfft/Emmy are silent on this movement.

I see they actually have a complete movement that seems similar, but I don't see hands of that style listed there? Was there something in particular you were pointing out on that site?
No, just a good place to look. Search is trying sometimes. Maybe try IWC hands.

Ah, ok, I was hoping I missed something 😀 I searched all their IWC stuff. I've been told these are called "Lance Alpha" hands? Kinda hopeful I can find generic ones (and just luck into something close enough to the right hole size I can ream it or shrink it), but none of the generic kits I can find so far are anything close sadly.

Was hoping someone here would have some leads :/

I searched most of the morning... I can't seem to find an hour hand long enough! Alpha hands with a 1.20mm hole size seem to max out at 10mm, when I probably need 11mm.

a 15mm second hand is also seemingly not trivial to find. You'd think with everyone loving large watches these days, big hands would be easy to find!

Hmm... I've been pretty unlucky here. I trusted the 120/70 hands combo from various searches, and they are wrong! I went to install them today and they are significantly too small.

A bit of work with my profile projector (which I put off fixing until this past weekend :/) and I found that they are actually 140/80 hands? Was pretty shocked to see that! I picked up hands that the owner said are acceptable pretty cheaply, so I might be seeing if I can ream them out. But still, kinda shocking!
