Chrono 24 or eBay?

Hi - I am not up to 200 posts on the forum so selling/listing a watch is not an option for me at the moment. I do have an older Omega that I would like to sell via either eBay or Chrono24.

Suggestions/advice about selling on eBay versus Chrono 24 would be greatly appreciated. (I've bought two watches via Chrono 24)

Thank you.

Can I please just ask where you are from as this will have a bearing on which to use in my experience. I live in Dublin Ireland and if I list on eBay it automatically goes on to eBay.co.uk. I find that most buyers in the UK only seem to notice UK sellers or maybe these local sellers are prioritised more than overseas ones. If I am buying on eBay uk l can always find good deals from sellers outside the United Kingdom. I use chrono24 but find you get a lot of offers and you pay upfront. Just an opinion.

Been wondering the same I’d i should list some for sale on Chrono24 but I understand they want to charge the fee upfront, that is a hard one to swallow.

I think the answer is that it depends. Without knowing details of your watch let’s say it’s worth $800. You’re more likely to get a sale on eBay then Chrono24. The majority of buyers searching Chrono24 are generally looking for more expensive or hard to get pieces that they don’t find locally. On eBay you can start a listing at $1 and know it will sell for sure. Otherwise it may linger for months. If it’s a watch over $2500 then I think Chrono24 may not be a bad option. I check Chrono24 often and find so many of the prices are ridiculously high. I think if you list it competitively then you’ll have a better chance for a quick sale

By default on Chrono24 remove 30% of the listed price and that the realistic price.

Agreed. I've never sold on Chrono 24 or bought for that matter, but I think Ebay will be a much easier experience for you. Just prepare to fork over 10 percent final value fee on whatever the sale price is.

Does eBay take 10%?

I think that's the deal, last I checked. You can google their rates and see.

Yes, up to a maximum that is country-dependent. PayPal will take an extra fee as well (2.9% within the US, for example).

As mentioned above, if you would indicate what country you are in, you will get better advice.
