Choosing Planet Ocean size 39.5 and 43.5

Hello Folks,

I have seen this topic being discussed in other threads. However, I am still in dilemma to pick one. At least, I know i need blue PO, the color looks rich in my opinion. I tried out two sizes yesterday at Omega Boutique. I spent at least 40 mins trying out each other. I have ~6.5 inch and 39.5 felt small. 43.5 was big. May be if i would have not seen 43.5, I would have not felt 39.5 was small. Attaching you the 39.5 and 43.5. Though 39.5 looks big in wrist, at boutique it was smaller in person. 43.5 was on my face. Though at boutique they recommended for 43.5. I walked away confused without choosing one at the end.
Any suggestions ?

How tall are you? Most people think it’s JUST the wrist size, but your height that balanced out the rock on your wrist. Skinny and tall dudes pull off 47mm with ease.
If you are above 5’7”, 43mm rocks hard.. and bigger bang for your buck.
Under 5’5”, I’d go 39mm..

(Uhh, not scientific. Experienced from buying outdated, useless and hopelessly expensive wrist rocks for several decades, and talked a bunch of friends into buying outdated, useless and hopelessly expensive wrist rocks for several decades)

Almost similar comment from the boutique. I am 5'9". You are right, just wrist size might not matter.

43 is your best friend. It’s more watch for your money. More blings. More satisfaction, imo.

42mm was the best size and they were stupid enough to stop producing it.....

To me, the best PO was the liquidmetal limited edition with caliber 2500

all the rest is waaaaay behind, sadly

I love the PO, and especially the blue one.

I bought the 45 in titanium years ago, but it was just too big. I bought the 43 last year, but I found it to be too thick. I really like the 43 on my 7.25 wrist, but can't get over the thickness. So it has been sitting in my closet in the box for the last four months.

Did you also try on with the bracelet? I think you get a different feel and look with the bracelet compared to strap.

Yes, i did try with bracelet. Still 43 is big. I want the watch to be my daily wear, so i don’t want to buy and have remorse.

If it’s a daily wearer, then you should re-eval that 39mm again.
I find 40mm is the perfect daily wear.
you trade away wrist presence for comfort, essentially.
Back to square one. Sorry, no help here.

I have a 6.5 inch wrist and I think 39.5mm is perfect. The 43.5mm just seems too thick to me.

My 2 cents 😀

Tried both. The 43 is too thick. The proportions don't seem right. I went for the 39.5 and didn't look back.

thanks. Did you feel 39.5 is too small upon seeing it ? I came home and was checking the pictures of 39.5 and 43.5 on the wrist, I felt 39.5 was perfect. However, in boutique when I saw it directly i felt 39.5 too small. I don't know whether it was due to comparing 43 and 39 back and forth.

43.5 is not that large lug to lug but the thickness/height was a pass for me.

Strong vote for the 39mm. There is a theory out there that 39mm is the perfect size for a daily wearer for a large majority of people. Looking at your initial pics it looks like the 39 fits just between the edges of your wrist whereas the 43 looks like it might just overhang. Also, in the pics the 43 looked borderline clumsily big. I think having the 43 near the 39 played an optical illusion on you making the 39 seem even smaller in your mind. I would say go back and only request to see the 39 so that way you can’t compare it.

Exactly i was thinking the same. Lugs extending beyond my wrist and illusion. I will check out 39.5 only for better conclusion.

If you measure just the top surface of your wrist you can get a visual at home.

the 39.5 has a lug to lug of of 45mm which is just over 1-3/4inch

the 43 has a lug to lug of 49mm which 1-15/16inch just shy of 2.
