Certo bullseye, a new arrival from Kiev

I purchased this Certo through eBay from a seller in Kiev, Ukraine. The deal was struck on August 31, It shipped on Sept 1 and arrived on Friday Sept 12.

The elimination of the de minimis tariff exemption ($800 or less) by the Trump administration would appear to have affected this shipment but as yet there is no corresponding invoice for a tariff charge. The price was certainly fair IMHO, especially due to its condition. Consequently I was willing to gamble on the added tariff charge and the potential of shipping delays. I may still get a tariff invoice, presumably from the USPS. Time will tell.

@Mafkees had the same reference, but in a different dial color several years ago. I liked that watch a lot, and used his post as a reference for checking the correctness of this example. This one looks like a time capsule.

They are extremely pretty and extremely radioactive!
Thanks for “showing me the way” with your posts on your Certo from its initial purchase to the sale.

I had assumed that with all that exposed lume that this watch would be quite “hot”. The seller also counseled care.

I was surprised that there are no obvious radium burns on the dial from sitting unused for so long. Perhaps it’s the quality and type of the dial paint coating-I’m not sure.

I’ll be wearing this Certo in rotation with others and continue to treat these early lumed watches with care.

Some foreign post offices have not been accepting packages to the US because USPS has been demanding that tariffs be paid online and up-front. I have not heard of USPS sending bills to recipients after delivery in the US.

My guess is that you got away with one in this case.

Gator, I did just learn the seller had to pay 10% of the value to the shipping postal service as she posted the package. The package transferred quickly to and was tracked by the USPS from the very start.
I’ve seen nothing further on a tariff charge from my end.

That is the general tariff rate for Ukraine.

It all makes sense.
