Certina Club 2000... GRANA?

Hi everyone,
I own this Certina club 2000.
The strange thing about this watch is that it's branded GRANA... the old Certina name.
As far as I know the brand name GRANA was abandoned during the 50s.
Does anyone know why this watch from the 70s is branded Grana?
Did you see other Certina "Grana" from this period?

I have no answer to your specific question, but I know that "Grana" is the short name of Granacus, the latin name of the town of Grenchen, where the factory was established.

Yeah, I knew that. They changed it because "Certina" was easy to pronunce in all lenguages while Grana wasn't (at least that is what it's written on their website).
I sent an email to Certina about this watch, let's see if they can answer.

My guess would be some sort of anniversary or maybe they kept the original name in some markets (even if in this last case I would expect to see more of them arround)

Neat watch! Unfortunately, I do not have any insight with regard to the Grana vs. Certina dial signature. I am curious if the case and movement are also signed Grana?

This is really a nice watch... Certina really put some effort in the details. Look at those serifs!
