Certina 200 meter Diver (new model) retrofit with old blue 200 m dial and mvmt....

Always wanted to use the old blue 200 m Certina DS 3 Tritium dials and hands and Original 919 hack movement in an bigger case with turning bezel and water resistant for everyday wear..... So: bought a slightly used new Certina 200 m ..... And believe it or not: even the inner movement holder of the new model ( ETA mvmt .) takes the old certina hack movement 919 and the blue DS 3 dial. had a few spares left from previous services and the original yellow rubber ring is mounted as well. slightly thinner diameter . does the job and nothing rattles, when this setup is fixed with the new turtle case back. amazing. 2 pictures added. kind regards. The only thing I'm not keen on is the orange hand. Both white, or both orange and I'd be happy.

Divers in the 70's had only the minute hand painted Orange for better visibility under water. Together with the turning Bezel it reminded you , when your Oxygen was used 35% . The hour hand is uninteresting when diving.

Ah yes!

I did try diving in the 70s. Off the coast of Newcastle/Nelsons Bay, but after seeing my first shark I decided that waterskiing on the river was a better water sport!

The mate who took me diving had an interesting nickname. "Sharkbait" 馃榿.

Plenty of sharks in the Rivers as well ..... Sharkbait is a shitty nickname for a Diver. Lately our sport activities might be better described as Click Bait......
