what's a ramoneta?
It's not even attractive
agreed, overpolished case/crown guards, mismatched hands, service insert. That price tag is just offensive.

The prices are silly, and the quality is all over the place. You need to keep in mind that this whole program is designed to be a gift from Rolex to the ADs.

I will add that Rolex plays semantic games with the history of these watches as well. The do come with a warranty (2 years, IIRC), and are "certified" by Rolex (whatever that means), but they do not explicitly indicate that each watch is serviced by Rolex. And I have firsthand knowledge that they are a mix of watches certified and serviced by an RSC and others that are serviced and inspected locally by an AD's service department. As a result, I have actually seen RCPO watches advertised online with aftermarket parts. In one case, I saw a bezel insert that was one of the well-known fakes.

So not only is the price ridiculous, but the whole premise that you are paying for world-class authentication and service is deeply flawed.

Does authenticity even matter when the authentic parts are all service replacements?

I agree, but many buyers are not really collectors, we just don't see them on the forum so much.

I find it all fascinating. It's not very hard at all to find your way to Windvintage or Mentawatches or even Bob's Watches and get a relatively honest vintage Rolex at a fraction of that insane price. Who is the buyer?

This price makes Wind Vintage seem like a downright steal!
