Hi guys,

I was wondering if any of the experts here could help me with what may be a simple question (but for which I haven't been able to find a proper answer yet...).

Are there multiple dial variants for Omega Centenary 2500?
Every once in a while, some seem to pop up with different positions (or complete absence) of the railtracks...

The common/I guess official version:

Railtrack on the outside of the hour markers:

No railtrack at all:

(These are some quickly put together examples, the idea would be to discuss the dials/railtrack position only)

Visually, I definitely think I prefer the first version, but it would be nice to know if any of the others are original also, and if there is any idea of a reason behind these different versions.

I have an ad from 1948 (american magazine) in which the railtrack actually seems to be on the outside so... I guess at least these ones are original?

Thanks!

The Railtrack on the outer perimeter is a completely different reference —The original Centenary 2499.

To my knowledge, there is only one dial style for the larger Centenary, Ref 2500. However, there are color variations (yellow and pink) and I’ve seen one or two with Fab. Suisse instead of Swiss Made at the bottom.

For the smaller Ref. 2499, there are at least 3 different dial variants. I wrote about them here:

Hope this helps,

Non-original dial.
I agree with this. Refinished dial, a poor one.
And just to be clear if it's not already, the first picture you showed is
from 2499, Not 2500. Railtrack is Not on the Outside on a 2500.
It's inside the markers.

Thanks all for the great input!

Another "no railtrack" listed as a 2500... 😭

And btw, found another ad in the archive, this one from Portugal:

Here is mine

case serial number is 10,724,005
movement serial number 10,761,249

Not sure on the country of origin. It was originally my grandfather's who lived in Hong Kong at the time and oddly enough, sits in a Girard-Perregaux case.
