Not sure about the one he’s wearing in this photo but he’s an Omega Ambassador and a watch fan who’s not averse to wearing Vintage Omega.
When caught on camera you normally see him wearing a steel sports watch, which is what took my eye about this photo. Is it an Omega ? ..... oh and the name’s Bond, James Bond 😉

Could be a Connie; smaller size and profile favours vintage. Certainly not a newer Seamaster

Thought of Mark Knopfler and his Speedmaster in this youtube vid immediately I saw this thread, I've seen a few other occasions of him wearing it too, in interviews and in concert.

These were the best screenshots I could get:

Ep2 - Breitling ChronoMatic

Ep4 - Unknown

Ep7 - Unknown

Ep8 - Unknown (edit: ChronoMatic again, I think)

Ep11 - Unknown
The Unknown is Breitling Chronomat, the Chronomatic is actually Heuer Autavia . Check the positions of the crowns.

Having just read the entire thread, I’m left with the feeling that we Omega fans shouldn’t start a “celebrity” pissing match. 😁

Helen Mirren and John Paul in the 70s. I want to marry her, a fact which she is sadly unaware of. What watch is he wearing?

A hastily taken potato phone pic of James May driving Thunder Guts with what looks like a chrono- quartz?
Don't recall ever seeing him wear it after this.

You want to marry Hellen Mirren? Why not just ask her?

I’m completely fine with that. Nothing wrong with a low profile.

does that not looked photoshopped to anyone else?

It’s a look- kind of an HDR thing that seems to be hot right now in environmental portraiture- not a fan myself, but like the hard Hollywood lighting is the 40’s- it’s a look.

I should have bit a little clearer; I was talking more about these oddities:

Lol- I didn’t look that closely- yikes!

I think you’re seeing the metal keeper against a grey shirt on one side and the folded/tucked extra material on the other. Your middle arrow is pointing to the extra fabric that sits under the watch and occasionally slides out.

Looks like Joe Rogan had on a Speedy last night.

If you watch his podcast, you'll see he rotates between a white dial seamaster, a speedy and a rolex sub ceramic.

I listen to it in the car from time to time. Never actually watch it though.
