1975 The Terrorist staring Sean Connery. I saw this movie the other day. Numerous Speedmaster Mark II (?) appearances. The watch is prominently featured because it has a detonator button.
No offense taken here. While I'll state it a bit differently, I don't wholly disagree with you, borre. I think we all get that celebrities are there to bring brand awareness. Sure the presence of the Seamasters and PO in the Bond movies initially piqued my interest...and that is exactly what Omega was hoping for. I'll freely admit that anytime I see a cool looking watch in a movie or show, I try to figure out what it is. That said, and where I imagine you were going with this borre, my purchase came down to the fact that I like what I picked. Sure it is cool to see that a particular celebrity might be wearing the same model that I am, or that I see a watch that I have in a movie or show, but it is equally, if not more fun, to encounter another person, non-celebrity, that has the same or similar watch. So while the family might still roll their eyes at me for having some "James Bond" watches, (both the PO and SM300 are chronos so not technically a fair dig at my expense, but that's a separate subject), since I've been forbidden from putting an ejector seat in the car, M isn't calling me with some cool mission, and I am far from driving an Aston Martin, I'll continue to simply enjoy my watches for what they are, watches that I think are pretty cool and am grateful to have. That ejector seat still would come in handy on some family road trips though.
Now that is something I do like as well @REckroat ! Last week I saw one of my colleagues wearing a speedy pro, cool to see another watch geek amongst the colleagues
Big dangers and a fast pace in Luckenbach what with the tree roosters and pleasant porch music out back. Heck yeah "Bond" better have the right watch!
