Right Here's my summer ride - a 1967 Conv. big block (more about her here: www.1967mustang.dk ): Changing spark plugs is quite a pain:
2016 Subaru Legacy 3.6r. A competent highway gobbler. Superb handling in adverse conditions. Smooth ride. Smooth power delivery.
Same goes for a nice 850 CSI and so many other cars. Hindsight is always 20/20. Better think about what you can pick up now for "cheap". @Steve88M3 .
I'm pretty much confined to pre-93' cars due to the tax system in my country. Luckily I prefer classic cars over new ones anyway.
My mother passed away in 2011 from a brain aneurysm at the age of 52. At the time, I was commuting back and forth to nursing school with a old Toyota. I used a portion of her life insurance money and paid cash for a 2012 VW Golf Deisel. Later that year I connect with a girl from Stockholm Sweden and eventually relocate to Stockholm in spring 2014. A year later and VW is publicly accused of lying about their deseil emmisions and are offering to buy back my 2012 Golf. Talk about perfect timing, as the golf had been sitting in storage for two years. I flew back to New Orleans and sold the car back to Volkswagen. I paid 32,000 USD in 2011 and sold the car to VW for 26,400USD. So, I basically paid 5,000 USD to borrow the car for 4 years.
I had a bunch of cars in my past, most noteworthy 4x Mazda MX-5s (Miata in US speak; 2x NA, 1x NB and 1x NC), a Honda S2000, a Chevrolet Camaro 6.2 V8, VW Golf GTI Clubsport. Nowadays I'm driving this - family is about to grow, so I'm happy for some extra space: Got to drive a variety of different Lotus so far (Elise, Exige MkI, Elise SC, Evora, Evora S) and like them all quite a bit. My ultimate goal is a 1st or 2nd Gen Viper, though...
So I left the Ford family but did find a solution to my wife’s challenge... 707 hp 645 fpt 0-60 in 3.5 secs 12mpg and unlimited smiles! Most have no clue what it is, but those who know, know.
You and me both. About 10 years ago I was ready to pull the trigger. I was in college and did not really need a car a whole lot but ultimately I decided that it wasn't a good idea to buy a 20 year old car for what I could buy a brand new car for, so I picked up a GTI instead. Even if I had bought it, a cross country move a few years later probably would have forced me to sell it. And I'd probably be even more mad at myself right now hah. One day I'll have a 964...
